ahhhhh I'm still recovering!!
what an extremely talented and sadly underrated star here in OZ - the upper level was empty - I suppose everyone wanted to be in the dance area lol which was FULL!!
the support act really were not of the genre, and the crowd did not enjoy them much. It was so funny I looked behind me and there was this kid that looked a bit like Bob Marley no joke and the expression on his face was priceless LOL he must've been thinking: who are these people?!! LOL
so when they went and Maxi's people started coming out the crowd was sooo relieved and happy to see them!
and when Maxi finally came out!! WE WENT WILD!!
I didn't recognise him at first, he went from behind the drummer and sort of peeking at the crowd, as if he was playing hide and seek with us as he walked around the back and then to the front!!
He started with In the springtime, the best of me, should I and just a little bit longer...and it was funny if we weren't loud enough he'd start the song from the beginning LOL he did that with wild world and at least another few songs...not that we minded!!!
he was shaking hands with people on each side of the stage but he never came to the middle! us in the middle were soooo trying to get him to come to us!
before the show I had even turned the MAXI PRIEST promo cards over and had written lovely messages on them like WE LOVE YOU MAXI and THANX 4 COMING TO AUSTRALIA, MERRY CHRISTMAS and even drew a mini Christmas tree LOL I put those somewhere where he can see them...hopefully...he was wearing these sunnies - but they were fashion ones I think, they weren't very dark or anything.
so we tried and we tried and still we couldn't get him to come to us!!
I was praying by then DEAR MARY MOTHER OF GOD PLEAAAAASEEE LET HIM COME OVER TO US!!
& BLESS HER SHE HEARD!!
Maxi by then was singing HOUSECALL one of my all time fave songs of him! about half way through the song he comes over, still singing, but this time he was pointing STRAIGHT AT ME, while singing, and my jaw was like hanging in mid-air in disbelief, I was going, is he singing to ..me??????
then I reached my hand to him and he took it!!!!!!
ARRRRRGHHHHH of all the people in the middle he shook my hand!!!! THANK YOU HOLY MOTHER!
I was going to my friends afterwards I CAN'T BELIEVE HE SANG TO ME!!! I nearly died!!
Well my little Christmas miracle doesn't end there...
at the end when he sang CLOSE TO YOU he called us onstage and his assitants or soemthing were pointing at people and they were climbing up on the stage. and those of you in OZ who have been to the enmore theatre would know it's a bit of a challenge hopping on to it - your elbows reach the stage, but good luck if you can use those arms to pull you up!
1st attempt: nopes!!
2nd attempt: my friend gave me a hand or two, she kept pushing me up till finally successful!!
He was so cool he put his arm around me and my friend took a pic!! it was sooo great dancing onstage!!!!!
He's sooo sweet! and what a voice too!!!
shortly before he left the stage he was going past me and he lightly touched me with his hand as a hello probably goodbye considering it was the last song lol everyone was still dancing then after he went people I noticed people were getting off the stage so I went to one of the guiatrists with him and asked him for his autograph and he gave it to me then i went over to the other guy
then someone yelled out from backstage lol it was the security guard lol ..I took the postcard off that poor guy and he was confused cause I just gave it to him to sign it lol i told pointed to the security guard lol i hope he understood what i was on about lol
and oh yeah... all the fans were off stage ...except me LOLOLOL
I got his sig after the show totally finished lol
I was like: Mad show! and they were nice and smiling politely lol and now i'm going, all that creole that I leaned!!! I could've at least told them Bless up Brothers! that was a fantastic gig! keep strong or something!
unfortunately I couldn't go to the afterparty cause my friend and her friend had to go home soon.
Here's the interesting bit....I was checking out the CD and noticed the guy who signed one of my postcards: "TADDY P" ..his full name is: Othniel CAMPBELL !!!
CAMPBELL?!!!!
and there's someone else in the band called "Richard "Goofy" CAMPBELL"....
ANY RELATIONS?!!
well....I SOOO CANNOT WAIT TILL OUR BOYS TIME!!!
and I gotta also work on my upper arm strength from now till FEB..in case the boys let us dance on stage

I think I was a little bit like...when Ali heard John Holt singing 2 him the pillow over the phone LOL
